Rhylee’s Story

Rhylee’s Legacy honors her life by turning love into action, advocating for protections so no other animal suffers the same fate.

Rhylee’s health declined rapidly despite treatment. She developed worsening joint swelling, shallow breathing, loss of appetite, and behavioral changes. Repeated warnings from her caregiver were ignored, and critical reassessment was delayed. She died from a fungal infection in her lungs; it was too late when she was finally admitted to the hospital. Her death exposed critical gaps in veterinary care safeguards. 

Rhylee Grace turned 6 years old on December 21, 2025 and died 32 minutes later. 

Rhylee’s Law would ensure caregivers are heard, persistent or worsening symptoms trigger reassessment, and veterinarians provide timely, informed care. This petition calls on the New Jersey Legislature and federal authorities to close these gaps, protecting animals and supporting families nationwide.
